Seferina Baca (b. May 12, 1997) is a Mexican-American composer from Los Lunas, New Mexico. She has composed music primarily for chamber winds. Her works have been performed and made accessible to collegiate musicians who strive to support new music. Her works have been performed in the United States and Mexico. She studied with Dr. Peter Gilbert, Dr. Karola Obermuller, and Dr. Richard Hermann at the University of New Mexico.
Baca is a Saxophone Clinician and Teacher in the Albuquerque Area. She ranges from teaching advanced high school musicians to beginner-level musicians. Aside from her typical contracted work, she offers saxophone, music theory & and composition lessons.
Music lies at the center of many of her activities. One of which includes being a Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity. When she is not composing, you'll find her running a local coffee and boba tea shop in Albuquerque, NM. Otherwise, she is known to enjoy a good book amongst the company of her two cats, Bevin and Margaret.
